Abstract

The objectives of the research were to study: 1) explicit knowledge of Thai organic farming, and 2) tacit knowledge from Thai indigenous organic farming. Mrs. Sommai Nu-daeng who is the owner of "Rai Thon Nuey" or "Dare to Sweat Farm" at Khok Samrong district, Lop Buri province was a case study. Study techniques used documentary analysis, observation and in-depth interview then content analysis was applied. Findings revealed that techniques and input factors of Thai organic farming had imitated conventional agriculture, only applied organic matter grow produce, accelerate growth and pest management. Two organic farming patterns are self-sufficient organic farming and standard organic farming. The empirical study showed that practices and essential components can reduce cost of organic farming. The emphases were on production management. The more crops rotary grown, the more balance of farm sustainability would become.
